The
weather played a big part for the 2011 Rotorfest held at the Brandywine
Airport in West Chester. Rain and low ceilings the day before the
show caused some of the flying and static helicopters to cancel.
Limited flying because of the weather conditions on Saturday made
for a smaller flying display, but still kept the onlookers watching
the flying of the choppers above the field. The highlight of that
day of flying was the demo by the Bell 47G, the rescue demo by
the PennStar Medivac Helicopter and some flying from the Robinson
R22 and R44 Helicopters. The main event at the end of the show
was a demo from the Sikorsky S-92 'Legacy of Heroes Tour'
before leaving the show and heading to Norfolk, Virginia after
making a couple of passes. |
The show had various
activities for the kids to keep them happy when they got tired
of watching and needed a break. There were the usual airshow food
stands and booths selling airshow related goods. Also available
and very popular were the helicopter rides which took place during
the breaks in the main airshow flying and also before and after
the show ended. |
