2007 Air Shows

Toronto International Air Show CNE 2007

Location: South of the Canadian National Exhibition grounds on the waterfront west of Ontario Place.
Admission: Included with the CNE admission, but can be viewed for free from the lake front shore line parks, in the "spectator" area, however, no washroom facilities provided in the free section.
Parking: At the CNE or directly at the lakeshore parks $20.00. While public transport (TTC) is available to the CNE, none exists to the free areas. 1/2 to 1 mile walk from and to public transit each way.
Value: Good.
The air-box corridor for the air show, is on the waterfront. While it is safe for the spectators, but for viewing or for photographing the air show performers, it is far from ideal.

The weather was sunny and hazy most of the time. Taking photos into the sun over Lake Ontario always presents a problem for photographers, however just to watch it, was pleasant. The aircraft line up was ok, but nothing outstanding and some of the jets flew too high.

Some of the participants were:

  • Boeing Globemaster
  • T6 Harvards
  • P-51D Mustang
  • PT-17
  • F-16 Fighting Falcon
  • F-18 Rhino
  • F-22 Raptor
  • CF-18 Hornet
  • The Snowbirds
Rating: 7.5 out of 10
The show highlight was the Heritage flight of the USAF. The P-51D Mustang was flanked by a F-16 Fighting Falcon and a F-22 Raptor.
